Al Crider
I retired from the AF in 2000 after spending 29+ years active duty.
Starting out during the Vietnam War I was drafted into the US Army but
talked the Air Force recruiter into signing me up before I was due to show
up for the Army. After basic I attended Nuclear Weapons Training at Lowery
AFB Denver and was assigned to Westover AFB MA. When the AF closed Westover
I was sent to
In March 2003 I joined CLR to work on a temporary contract position within HQ AMC A6. Well seven years has passed and I am still working the same project. I work on the CITS projects which affect all 12 AMC bases. CITS addresses the base infrastructure (fiber and network), Voice systems, and security suites. Always plenty to do and I enjoy working these project as it keep me in touch with new technology (VoIP, IPv6, IPTV).
When not at work we are usually at our camp on Raccoon Lake in Centralia (Fishing). As you can see there are plenty of catfish (I am on the left side of the Pic). We have family in the area -- the reason we ended up here in Lebanon IL. Our daughter lives in Kansas City (General Manager of California Pizza Kitchen) and our Son is in the Air Force stationed at Kadena AF Japan. We plan to have the whole family together this Christmas at Disney Orlando.

Barksdale AFB Louisiana. While at Barksdale I accomplished
three major goals: Got married, graduated from Louisiana Tech University and
was accepted for Officer Training School. The next 22 years were spent at
various locations: Germany, South Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, Virginia, and
SCOTT AFB. One of the best assignment was as J6 SOCACOM (Norfolk Air
Station Virginia) where we were responsible for the Caribbean (AOR),
needless to say got to see most of the islands...
